Good training helps with employee retention; except …
Usually a good training program plays a significant role in reducing turnover. However, after a discusson on this topic the other day, a truth found its way to the table:
No matter how good the quality of a company’s training program, it can’t stop people leaving because of crappy management.
So — if you’re trying to improve employee retention by improving your training programs, first take a hard look at management. If people are being treated like crap, no amount of extra training is going to keep them around.
