Why don’t people listen? Take the survey!
PRESS RELEASE
The Center for Workplace Excellence is conducting a survey to discover the circumstances most likely to inhibit true listening.
“Listening is an essential skill for managers,” says Dan Bobinski, director of the Center for Workplace Excellence. “Therefore it’s a given that the lack of listening is inhibits managerial effectiveness.”
To better understand which conditions are most difficult for listening, the Center is conducting an survey in which people can identify their “the top four most difficult situations for listening” from among 10 different options. The 10 options were identified by a survey of managers as the most difficult circumstances for trying to understand another person’s point of view.
Survey participants are asked to choose the four situations in which listening is most difficult for them and rank them 1 through 4 (with a “1” indicating the person’s most difficult situation for listening).
The popular website management-issues.com is also assisting with disseminating the survey, and will assist in analyzing the results.
To participate in the survey, click here. To avoid multiple entries from one person, participants are asked to enter their email address at the end of the survey. A copy of the final results with an accompanying analysis can be obtained by requesting it after the survey is completed.
